Occupational Certificate: Short-term vocational training designed to give students basic business, technical and professional skills.
Units: 30 units (approximately)
Timeframe: 1 - 2 years
Purpose: Entry-level employment or job advancement
Associate Degree: A two-year degree program designed to enhance students' critical-thinking skills provide reading, writing and mathematics competence while training students for an entry-level job.
Units: 60 units (minimum)
Timeframe: 2 - 3 years
Purpose: Entry-level employment or job advancement
Transfer: A two-year degree provides the first two years of a four-year education. The focus of general education is critical-thinking skills; provide reading, writing and mathematics competence while training students for an entry-level job.
Units: 56 units (minimum)
Timeframe: 2 -3 years

Admission
To be eligible for admission, potential students must:
- Complete and submit the International Student Information Sheet
- Complete and submit the International Admissions Application
- Send an official Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) score directly from ETS. The minimum score requirement is 450 (Written) or 133 (Computerized) or 45 (IBT). This requirement may be waived if the student completed their secondary education in a country where English is the primary language of educational instruction.
- Submit original, official transcripts, certificates and diplomas from secondary schooling and any colleges and universities you attended. If these documents are not in English, a certified English translation must accompany them.
- Complete and submit a Confidential Financial Statement and provide the required bank statement(s)/ letter(s) (no more than 2 months old) showing a minimum of $18,960 to meet estimated tuition and living expenses. Further documentation may be required.
- Submit a copy of your passport expiration page, visa and I-94.
- Submit 3 passport photos.
- Submit a nonrefundable $ 35 money order payable to Los Angeles Valley College for the application fee.
- Los Angeles Valley College requires parents submit a signed Guardian Statement for students under 18 on the fist day of classes.
- Students who are married or have children under 21, and plan to bring their dependents to United States as F-2 dependents must complete and submit a Dependent Information Sheet and proof of an additional $ 3,000 per dependent.
